Desire and Intimacy

Dave has this remarkable ability to counsel and support from a strong professional foundation whilst at the same time having an open heart and pure sacred human connection. He has a way of holding space that makes me feel safe and held so that I can share anything and be as vulnerable as I want ... Dave is wise beyond his years, he is a true inspiration to me and I trust him implicitly. If you are looking for someone to support you, to help you navigate this crazy thing called life, I really cannot recommend him enough.

How I work

Whether I am sitting with an individual, a couple or a group, the foundation of my work is to offer a space of safety and welcome, where all parts of you feel allowed and encouraged to express their wants, needs, joys and fears.

My work is driven by an unshakeable faith in love, and in the sacredness that lies at the heart of our desires. In my own life, I aim each day to cultivate a relationship with my desires that acknowledges this sacredness - that responds with humility and reverence, and sees working with desire as a wonderful, life-long path. In each moment, I try to ask myself ‘what is most loving? what here is sacred desire and what is unhelpful craving? how do offer myself and others the deep care and safety that are necessary to creating the conditions for this desire to do its sacred work?’

In my work, I offer this way of looking without pressure or expectation, and what I find is that it inevitably seeps through to my clients, lightening the burden of being a human caught between powerful desires and apparent constraints, between frustration and shame and fear of doing something wrong. The blooming of hearts I have witnessed in this process - the unfolding of love and freedom - has been beautiful in ways I cannot put into words.

Naming, facing and working with our desires and our deep-set longings can bring up enormous tenderness and vulnerability, which is why I work slowly, never rushing past the parts that need a long time to let down their defences. Instead, by explicitly honouring and welcoming those defensive parts, I find that my clients are able to build new relationships with their emotions, desires and needs, which can ultimately transform shame and bring a new sense of peace and empowerment.

Arranging a free consultation
